The score out of context seems high, but if you watch the other skaters, everyone was over-scored and no one skated cleanly. Go watch the surprised look on Jeremy Abbott's face when his scores came up and he got an 83 for a no-quad program with a step out.

He had so much speed coming out of that quad it probably even surprised him.

I think the eventual intention is to have the quad lutz be in combination in this program (assuming it's landed cleanly). Later on in the routine, he has steps into his triple lutz, so I assume that was intended to be the solo jump. A well done 4Lz-3T could be worth in excess of 18 points.

Thanks for posting this. Been waiting for this horse to make his debut. If he has any of his sister's stamina, he should be an exciting prospect for next year.

His posture throughout this entire program is absolutely perfect. Love the character.

Very impressed by both of the top two. Let's keep in mind that Ruler on Ice was carrying 10 more pounds than To Honor and Serve here... he was really running at the end and it's not like To Honor and Serve was stopping.

She obviously got a little tired in the stretch but she had a right to. Back in 2009, she was absolutely explosive second time off the layoff so I expect better next time out.

I think you can say that this is probably the greatest men's free skate... ever. Athletically and technically, at least. I've never seen a man skate with so much difficulty and energy throughout an entire program. You can't even say that those scores are inflated that much because it was mostl...

I'll miss watching her run, but her connections made the right decision to retire her. I would say we won't see another 3-year-old filly campaigned so ambitiously for many, many years. She's truly an all-time great. Now let's hope she can be a successful broodmare.
