About Peter Fitzpatrick - Songwriter
Peter Fitzpatrick writes songs that deal with the subjects that pull at your heartstrings: love and loss, happiness in even the darkest hour. Sometimes the songs are just about "...stuff....the stuff that happens and we never stop to ask how or why...". The songs talk about the frustration at our human limitations: the inadequacy of language, how we make it difficult for ourselves.
He is compared to George Harrison, Elvis Costello and Ron Sexsmith. Never really wearing these influences on his sleeve you can see similarities to the darkness in some of Costello's material, the Harrison humour & the Sexsmith human condition.
His live shows are a mixture of folk observations on current affairs, dark thoughts on times we thought were past, humorous takes on classic song subjects. Delivered with understated guitar and some laptop electronics. He is comfortable with the folk-tronica tag: "I'm here to represent the old-ternative genre and stand up for the middle-ages !"
