Hi,
My name is Ella and I aspire to be a great dog trainer, and most importantly a great friend to my Dog. I train Pepper - my labrador- using clicker training and positive reinforcement methods. I train my dogs in agility, and tricks, as well as obedience.
A bit about Pepper:
Pepper is my 4 yo Black labrador who we got from sydney. We ordered her from a breeder over there, who originally was going to keep her for himself, but couldn't due to travel reasons. When we went to pick her up from the air port, we where expecting to find our 8 week old black fluff ball scared and hiding in the corner of the crate. Pepper, though being the maveric she is, thought it was great having all the airport staff fussing over her and decided she needed to say hello to every single person in sight.
I started training Pepper for agility back in 2009, because we originally needed a way to make her more obedient, and get her working around other dogs because she all ways used to bolt off is she saw another dog and this was becoming dangerous. She picked up everything fast and excelled at obedience and agility very quickly, she even overtook the boarder collies. Peppers bolting off became a thing of the past in a matter of weeks, although she still is the most sociable pooch ever.
I started clicker training in the time I was teaching agility, because I needed a quicker cue word. The clicker worked so well I decided we would start doing some tricks, just for the fun of it. Pepper picked up tricks in days, sometimes even hours for the easy ones like "spin". Pepper's list includes"
Basic obedience:
- Sit
- Stay
- Heel
- Come
- Lie down
- Sit (at road)
Tricks:
- Shake
- Roll Over
- Spin
- Balance treat on nose
- Hi 5
- "Person" (Stand and walk on hind legs)
- Blow Bubbles (in a bowl of water)
+ Agility.
::IN PROGRESS::
