Referring to this production as "crap" is really being charitable. This verges on being nauseating. It shows how sick our world is today. It's productions such as this one that make me want to stay at home and listen to recordings. This is an insult to Wagner's creation.

I have a recording from Teatro Comunale, Modena, that is dated 1 March 1987. Is this the very same performance? If so, can you tell me the entire cast?

I know this is a little silly, but I must confess that I have enjoyed all of these creative interpolations. I find that they are in keeping with many of Maria's own exciting embellishments.

My production was far superior with younger children.

I don't want to brag, but my production of WEST SIDE STORY was far superior to this production. You can compare by going to my channel. I was working with much younger students, and my choreography was superior. The execution was far better, too.

Thanks for spending so much time compiling these clips. It's fascinating to listen to so many performances in such a short time. I also thought that your sound quality was remarkably good, Naturally, Callas is much better in an entire aria, but this was fun to hear.

I love Maria so much that I can overlook the flaws in her voice that were very apparent in 1960. This is my favorite performance of POLIUTO because Corelli and Bastianini were terrific assets. Even in her weakened state of voice, Maria has some glorious moments.

The high C of "Patria mia" was always troublesome for Maria. However, I find this performance one of her very best. I don't think that I have ever heard this performance. In fact, I had no idea that it existed. I certainly hope that there is more hidden somewhere.

Once again, I have enjoyed your creative idea. Sutherland had admiration for Callas, but they were not "good frends." This opera was very funny with Sutherland, but Dessay was too overbearing. Less can be more.

I have always thought that I possessed the best sounding recording of this performance. I will have to compare. I may have less hiss. Regardless, I loved the photos.

The night of March 19, 1965 was the greatest night of opera that I ever experienced in more than fifty years of attending the Met. No, it was not even close to Maria's best singing, but it was electrifying theatre. I shall never forget that night.

When and where did this performance take place? I think that the "Preghiera" is one of the most memorable selections of the opera. I have loved it since the first time I heard it performed in Carnegie Hall.

I think this is the most difficult aria in the opera. It calls for pianissimi, trills, legato,

The picture quality is wonderful, but there is a terrible bass hum in the audio. The poor sound makes it very difficult to enjoy the performance. I enjoyed the vocalism, but I prefer the child to be invisible to the audience. It's very hard to get a real child to perform in this scene.
