Born on August 27, 1990, in Carson, California, De'Juan "Yung Star" Parrish began his career at the age of 11 as a sound engineer. As time progressed, he realized not only did he want to be a sound engineer/producer but a performer as well. So never have taken a days worth of vocal lessons, Yung Star began training himself how to better sing and started recording his own music. From then he went on to create an independent company called Yung Starz Entertainment.
In May of 2009, the company released their first project by an artist named Phaze I. Soon after, the song, "Get Ya Right," received radio airplay on 102.3 (KJLH). Three months later in August, Yung Star released his debut album, titled "Destiny of a Yung Star". The album received a 5 star rating on iTunes and brought many new fans & opportunities his way.
Since then, the young artist has went on to do many collaborations and mix projects for several artist such as "The UnderEstimated Truth" by Torrey Crowe that was released under E1 Music (formerly known as Koch Records). He has also done much work for popular jerk artist, Aaliyah D 3 & has even worked on plays such as "I Need Thee" starring Pastor Michael J. Fisher. As a producer & engineer, Yung Star has been given the chance to study under Grammy Award Winning Engineers such as John Barnes & Ted Greenberg and work with great producers such as Soundwave.
Yung Star has been seen performing at parties & sweet sixteen events, amusement parks, such as Six Flags Magic Mountain, clubs around LA such as the Whiskey-A-Go-Go, back to school performances for high schools & colleges and so much more. He has also had interviews with radio stations such as XRadio.biz & even done songs with celebrities such as Marcus Paulk (Myles on the Moesha show).
Yung Star is a full ride scholarship graduate from the Art Institute of California & a much greater singer, songwriter, producer, and more. Yung Star is much older than he was in the songs of the previous release & has created a more mature sound. His new promo Mixtape, "So Far Gone", can be downloaded now for free at Yung-Star.com & his sophomore album, "Story of a Man", is scheduled to release Tuesday, October 11, 2011.
