@Restitutus - The Shima we see in the 2009 movie must be Daisuke's younger brother Jiro, grown up and working for Earth Defense with the now commanding General Sanada (Sandor). He's the guy at the main control desk on the high platform overlooking the control center where Sanada is seen standing.

@TheOceans674eva - ehh and yeah, a little fast slap bang cheezy on the special FX and choppy on the character anime because it's for a game, but DAMN! This could go somewhere - it should be developed into a full anime series and put up on "hulu"!!! If they did that I'd buy the whole DVD box set!

The rough pixelation is absolutely intentional. Definately tweaking with it as an art form. With the limited digital technology of the time (in it's infancy), this stuff is amazing. Too bad early MTV didn't give this obscure video more airplay. Great stuff these lost gems. Howard Jones stuff stil...
