In the latter half of the twelfth century, things were...well lets face it pretty awful. The king at the time, who was a fat, old git with a beard, thought that it was essential to the survival of his kingdom that he bring a little levity into a world of plagues, holy wars and poverty. For this he called together four knights who were neither brave, nor valiant, nor virtuous, but instead possessed the talents to do battle with boredom and banality. He formed The Noble fellows of temerity on April 26th, 1172 only to lose control of them two days later. The four knights disappeared into the ether and eventually rented a duplex apartment in a Manhattan before real estate there was absurdly expensive, and fortunately it was rent controlled so they really didn't have to worry about that sort of thing. Things were pretty good for them until they all died in 1209 of carbon monoxide poisoning. Before their death however they had trained their offspring in the ways of temerity and this sort of thing went on for generations. Today, The Noble Fellows continue to entertain the masses, staving off the forces of ennui and brewing up their own unique brand of mayhem.
