I believe in taking a strong stand for what I believe in. I have to admit to being quite cynical about how genuine many people are. Too many people judge people over things of no importance: general appearance, colour, cloths style, religion or lack of, body shape, sexual orientation etc. I don't judge people on the above matters. I'm happy to find like minded people, who like me, try to think on a higher level, to share thoughts, love, friendship, and life experiences with.
I'm am partly stuck in the past. I love aspects from the middle ages, the Victorian era, the 1910's up until 1950's. Vintage photographs of people (Victorian to 1940's) hold a special beauty to me. In addition, I have a collection of vintage teddy bears (1900's to pre 1960's). As well as a humble but growing collection of random old books (I love old book stores!).
European culture holidays are a delight when finances are permitting (haven't been in recent times *sigh*). Tourist resorts and bright humid weather with no accessible shade hold no delight. I'm a cool-breeze-no-tan-kind-of-girl. Brown skin looks gorgeous on brown people, not on me, or a lot of other white people. Just my opinion of course, because I like people to be natural.
Furthermore, I adore visiting castles (and other such places rich in history), and day trips to pre-Victorian church graveyards and Victorian cemeteries. Where I delight in taking endless photographs of ivy, chapels, churches and angles, and so on.
I desire freedom from the many complications of the modern world and enjoy nothing better than travelling to places of natural beauty - forests, meadows, quite beaches and water ways. And I love to go for walks in the rain, or when snow is under foot, and it's fun to kick through the fallen leaves of autumn (my favourite season).
I like Buddhist philosophy (for the most part, to me, it holds a lot of spiritual truth), and spirituality is of importance to me. However, I don't have a set organised religion. I have a diverse belief system. I like to say, my god and religion is love. I think that integrity, compassion, and emotional intelligence are the driving forces of life.
