During Vatican II and post-Vatican II, the popes *changed* doctrines in many areas.

Belief in pluralism and religious liberty is now orthodox.

Social Kingship of Christ changed to the Kingship of Christ over the individual.

Catholics no longer believe in EENS - other faiths are now different paths to salvation.

This proves that new Councils can declare old doctrines invalid. A new Council can allow women to become priests. Just as liberty triumphed over the old intolerance of the Church, new liberties can end the current intolerance of the Church. Vatican II was one of those great watershed moments in the history of the world. The protestant ministers and jewish rabbis who helped write the Vatican II documents and the New Mass should be hailed as some of the greatest heroes of the 20th Century.
