About this user

Knowledge should be a good thing. What form that knowledge takes is pretty much open to interpretation. Beware of false prophets, but arm yourself from ignorance.

I spent 3 years attaining a BSC (Hons) in Geological Sciences to try and figure out how the planet works and the 5 years since trying to figure out how I work. The latter phase has been infinitely harder.

I like good music, stand-up comedy, science, and philosophy - with open, evolving, free-thought concepts on religion and spirituality.

Not dogmatism.

This includes atheist dogmatism also. No, i'm not one of these whackjobs that thinks atheism is a 'religion', but some of it's more aggressive proponents (particuarly here on YT) show just as poor an ability to reason, and show just as much of an ugly side as the rest.

I despise fundamentalist authoritarian religion, serving it's own purpose. Judeo-Christian, Muslim, $cientologist - doesn't matter what they call themselves. I don't tolerate fools that cannot discern the difference between:
Belief and knowledge.
Evidence and proof.
Intuition and logic.
This is mostly because of the political/theological climate we live in today, which is causing a polarizing effect in people's minds, such as between the fundamentalist bible-belt of Christianity vs. the aggressive, militant Wahhabist/Salafist variations of Islam.

Western foreign-policy, fundamentalist religious groups and media/opinion bias are all the things leading the world to hell in a hand-cart.

We live in a world of lions led by donkeys.

Keep going this way, and we will have the rapture the fundamentalists are so fond of. And they will be the ones to throw it upon all of us.

Given my scientific background, I also have a particular beef with creationism - a specific aspect of religious fundamentalism.

The myth of Christian Literalism: The worship of & apparent telepathic relationship with a non-dead early Iron Age man from the Middle East who, as his own father, designed & created Space-Time - thereby explaining existence with pre-existing existence. As his own son, he let himself be tortured in order to cure humanity of an endemic, inheritable disease called "sin". Despite being omnipotent, he failed to stop "sin" contaminating his creation when a talking reptile shared some magical insight-inducing fruit with a woman made from a rib, the rib having been taken from a man made from soil. Whether this man had nipples & an umbilicus is open to question. If you don't accept this as absolute truth, you will be tortured for ever. You'd better accept it immediately because he's coming back any day now to pick up & reward the people who have been nice to him - but only the ones who have done it in the right way, the rest get tortured for ever...

Hmmm. Plausible.

(9) Preaching at me (quoting scripture at me achieves precisely nothing for your cause).

(10) Making any false comment whose veracity can be easily checked.

(11) The use of Pascal's wager

The use of any of the above on this channel, in conjuction with the blocking (or deletion) of comments on your own channel will result in instant blocking. If censorship is your way, then I have no interest in allowing you to use this as a one-way platform for you to proselytize on.
