I make AMVs becouse I find videoediting really entertaining and creative. I really want to get better at this, and maybe turn this into something else than just a hobby some day! :] Behind every video of mine, there is common reason, and that is to make me better at videoediting! I am not planning to do this kind of work to make some kind of profit, due to that my current work is based on others (manga writers/anime creators/ musicians, etc).
I use already excisting anime and songs ONLY as a medium, to strengthen my skills as a videoeditor. I always give full credit to the excisting and respective owners of the anime and songs I'm using. I have the outmost of respect for the original owners, and I really appriciate their work.
I se AMVs (or any other "copyrighted" material thats protected by copyright laws thats been used for fanly based purposes only) as a creative work. I personaly have a hard time finding this kind of videoediting "illegal". I understand that if a person is claiming to have MADE the material used in the video his own, then it is a illegal action, but if work is done my way; by giving credits to the original owners, then I only se this hobby as a creative work, when I combine multiple already exitsing works, and make something on my own out of these works (video = anime + audio = a song for example)
I am making these statements for Youtube to see, due to that I recently got my first "strike" = my first illegal action. (I forgot to mention the original owners and copyright holders in one of my videos once that got deleted).
If however, I do make this mistake again, I really hope, that You, YouTube-staff go through this, and at least consider sending me a message of what I've done wrong, BEFORE I get a strike, so we could solve future similar matters with ease, just by giving me some kind of instructions of what has to be done (deleting my video, or add something to it, or anything at all to avoid these strikes).
I have NO intention of breaking any copyright laws, and I really don't want to do this by mistake.

AMV editing hasn't left my mind I assure you. I have a LOT of ideas. I've simply had some software problems as of late. When it's fixed I plan on making some Death Note AMVs (I recently invested my money in the entire series). Anyway, more AMVs will come. Not sure when but pretty soon. Encouragement from someone of your talent is more motivation than I'll ever need.
