A HUMBLE REQUEST TO BROTHERS: PLEASE DON'T SEND ME ANY MESSAGE OR ADD ANY COMMENT TO MY CHANNEL UNLESS YOU WISH TO SHARE SOME KNOWLEDGE.
What is Qur'an? IT is certainly not something to be kept in a shelf and taken out to dig thru it to find an answer to some issue!
It is not a book to be read in Ramadan, like we have done during the month we had exams!
It is not something to fight over with those who don't believe it.
The Holy Qur'an 62:5 :
Mathalu allatheena hummiloo alttawrata thumma lam yahmilooha kamathali alhimari yahmilu asfaran bisa mathalu alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayati Allahi waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena
"The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. "
The above verse from the Qur'an stimulates a sense of responsibility in the people who are entrusted THE QUR"AN = THE MUSLIMS OF TODAY.
And then in Surah Hashr Allah (SWT) HIMSELF reminds us of teh responsibility :
If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and coming apart from fear of Allah. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought.
From that verse of Surah Jumua we can understand that ALLAH (SWT) has compared the people of Bani Israel to a donkey (and we are not unaware of the result of their carelessness. The donkey is least concerned about what has been loaded on his back - be it books, clothes or any other stuff!
By ALLAH we would not want to be compared to a donkey!
WE would always want to be counted among the loyal and beloved servants of ALLAH (SWT).
On the Day of Reckoning, we would want to be near the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions (RDA).
How is that going to be possible?
BY WALKING ON THEIR FOOTSTEPS, OF COURSE!
They were the people who didn't place The Qur'an covered in a shelf!
They recited it day and night and acted upon it all the time.
There are hundreds of examples in the ahadith of how the companions (RDA) consulted the Prophet (SAWS) in their day-to-day lives and he (SAWS) always counselled them in the light of The Qur'an.
Subhan Allah!
Various aayahs of the Qur'an were revealed to The Prophet (SAWS) to guide them in the daily matters.
Those were the best of all generations, for they always LIVED Qur'an.
Today, we are not so fortunate to be born in that period.
We can't go back in time, but it is only in our hands to make the best use of OUR TIME.
Qur'an is NOT A BOOK.
Not a book to be read in leisure.
It is in fact, that treasure out of which there is sustenance for all life.
It is our duty to try our best to give Qur'an its due.
It is our duty to fulfill the rights of the Qur'an by reciting it - pondering upon it's verses - understanding it in complete sense - IMPLEMENTING IT IN OUR LIVES - and last but one the most important rights of the Qur'an is CONVEYING IT.
