Please, all of you who touch base here, seek out Connie Field's films. On BBC they are called The World against Apartheid. There is a subtitle - Have you heard from Johannesburg. Internationally I don't know how you will find them. But try. Watching the films makes me understand so much.

I thought this might be placed here to promote The World Against Apartheid. Connie Field's wonderful films that have been shown on BBC4.

So disappointed that in last week's sports theme music thingy with the BBC Philharmonic that they didn't play this.

And to my regret this was not featured on last weeks sport music fest on R5Live. An opportunity missed, I would say.

Indeed he was the first and original and I saw him on stage in London. For my sister's birthday, we travelled to London and it was good.

Because of this song, I will forgive Peter Gabriel for every excess that Genesis ever did. This is amazing.

@holitipu I have been most horrified by some of the words coming out of the Saffers. They really still don't get it and yet are happy to be filmed by Connie saying those dreadful things. Two more episodes to go on BBC4. Brilliant.

Still shaken and emotional from The World Against Apartheid documentary about Soweto and Biko, I wanted to come here and listen to Wyatt. I find this version of the song poignant and Wyatt's voice unbelievably clear and true, but it doesn't make me cry in the way Gabriel singing it does.

Anyone who has access to the BBC must watch The World Against Apartheid. The episode tonight was about Steve Biko and when this music was finally used, right at the end, after the scenes at Biko's funeral, the tears were pouring down my face so that I could hardly see.

Because the first punk band that came out of that god forsaken land of Australia was of course the Boys Next Door. Shivers has to be one of the great songs.
