Yes I have a pat squirrel, He fell out of his nest when he was a baby and at the time my cat had kittens so I thought what could it hurt to try to see if my cat would nurse him and she did. so my pet squirrel grew up with a litter of kittens. I kept one of the kittens and the squirrel and they are the best of buddies...,

my advice for a squirrel

I buy squirrel food at walmart and mix it with farret food, un salted peanuts still in the shell, they love em. DO NOT give him chocolate!.
I learned that squirrels dont like to pee or poop where they sleep, I had mine in a smaller cage and when I let him out he would pee and poop everywhere but never in his cage, I have a farret cage now really big and tall and he goes on one side of the cage in the corner but never really out side of the cage anymore.

they like to chew on everything so watch him while he is running around the house. My squirrel loves to chew on cords. I always put paper towels in his cage it keeps him busy and he make a bed out of them or when you get extra napkins from fast food. I also put a little stuffed animal in his cage he plays with alot.
you will have to trim his nails when he gets alittle bigger but do not trim past the white on his nails he will bleed. try to keep him away from bath towels his nails will catch on it.
My squirrel is a male and he was nice to everyone friends that came by but when his nuts dropped he became mean and will bite anyone he does not know. the onlys that can play with him is me and my boyfriend...
