MGM's motto "Ars Gratia Artis", translated "Art for art's sake" is losing its meaning in the commercialized film industry of today. But under the studio greats like Louis B. Mayer and Darryl F. Zanuck, the movies flourished with the careful guidance of talented professionals. This era in film history is now known to us as the Golden Age, and they certainly don't make 'em like they used to!

Apart from classic films, I'm also a huge fan of classic radio. Favorite shows are THE BIG SHOW, THE IRENE DUNNE AND FRED MACMURRAY SHOW, and LUX RADIO THEATER. Of course, classic TV is another great interest, favorites being WHAT'S MY LINE?, THE LUCY SHOW, and THE BURNS AND ALLEN SHOW.
