Il gruppo nasce a Milano nel 2006. Riccardo Danieli (voce/chitarra), Davide D'Addato (batteria/voce) e Cisco Molaro (basso/voce) provengono da band punk e rock che hanno militato per anni nella scena musicale indipendente del capoluogo lombardo, calcando tutti i palchi possibili: dal Cso. Vittoria al Circolo Arci Magnolia. Dopo una demo (2006) e un Ep autoprodotto (2008), nel dicembre 2009 viene pubblicato per Against'em all records il loro primo album, l'omonimo "The Maniacs", prodotto da Olly (The Fire, Rezophonic).
Sempre nel dicembre del 2009 è uscito il loro primo singolo video "Changing Myself" che insieme al secondo singolo video Diy "Everyday", girato nel luglio 2010, entrambi realizzati dal regista Paiuk, riscontrano un discreto successo televisivo, venendo trasmessi da Rock TV, Music Box, Match Music, All Music e inseriti nel celebre canale di musica indipendente americano Blank TV.
Accanto a un'attività live sempre più frenetica, sui palchi del nord e del centro Italia, il debutto in studio dei tre maniaci lombardi è accolto positivamente anche dalla critica musicale italiana e internazionale (Mucchio Selvaggio, Rockerilla, Rockit, Troublezine, Motor, Ny musikk hver dag, Plastic Bomb).
Il 20 dicembre 2010 esce il terzo singolo video "Crash" su BlankTV, il brano di apertura dell'album, che vede alla regia il savonese Gigi Coppola, già al lavoro con Mgz e Tying Tiffany.
Il 21 dicembre 2010 è uscito "Material", Ep di quattro brani inediti che li porta a suonare di nuovo in giro per l'Italia.

The band started in 2006 in Milan.
Riccardo Danieli (voice/guitar), Davide D'Addato (drums/vocals) and Cisco Molaro (bass/vocals) played for years into the underground italian music scene. After selfproduced demo tape (2006) and EP (2008), in 2009 The Maniacs published their first homonymous album, produced by Olly (The Fire, Rezophonic), positively reviewed by national and international press.
In 2009 december they released their first single video "Changing myself" that together with the second single Diy video "Everyday", filmed in 2010 july, both made by the director Paiuk, found some success television, being broadcast by Rock TV, Music Box, Match Music, All Music and incorporated in the famous American independent music channel Blank TV. In 2010 december the band will release a brand new Ep called "Material" formed by four new songs, a preview of their second studio album.
