Existence

I hate commercialism and consumerism and conventionalism... well, except for football (soccer) perhaps, but I'm no fanatic! However I have to regret that it's losing its character as it's becoming too much a part of globalization... The main thing for me is TRAVELING as well as learning about History, cultures, ideas and even religions as all those subjects are pretty fascinating regardless of my personal views on any of them. Probably my favorite country is Russia (former USSR in general), its cinema, History, music, women, and that special feeling so hard to describe... But also, in general, Europe, it's just the centre of the world. Outside from that, some other places I've been to and have left me some mark are Algeria, Israel, Cairo, Yemen... that notwithstanding the cultural/social/political opinions that I may have against Islam which are so clear, but I tend to have an open mind to appreciate things, individuals and places for what they are, otherwise I'd be making my life more limited and less rich. And there are so many more places I'd like to visit, even in countries I've been to before...

I hate commercial Hollywood rubbish! The quasi-monopoly that it holds over the world should be banned by, say, the Unesco... but, of course such monopoly is tied to the GATT I read somewhere, so, fat chance... European cinema and television should be generously bankrolled by the european and national institutions, not trying to compete on the same debasing commercial terms as Hollywood -e.g. Luc Besson- but promoting our cultural and historical identity. However, certainly it would be false and unfair to dismiss all Hollywood cinema, they can also create some interesting films. The bottom line is that a balance should be found and cultural pluralism should be promoted.

Classic and Extreme (True) Metal -fuck Nu Metal and the like!- foremostly and many other types but NOT modern commercial crap and Hip-Hop brainlessness! NEITHER Dance, Emo, Raggae or most stuff you find around these days.

Mostly but not exclusively Non-Fiction, History, Countries of the World, alternative ideas... Some titles or authors that come to my mind: Le Camp des Saints by Jean Raspail -hilarious and ever so relevant!-, Voyage au Bout de la Nuit and Mort à Crédit by L.-F. Céline, Lords of Chaos -treatise on Extreme Metal-, Apocalypse Culture and some other book edited by Adam Parfrey, Ian Kershaw's Hitler bio, another book called Hitler and the Power of Aesthaetics, Maus by Art Spiegelman, Patrick Süskind... I must also mention the ideas and writings of Anton Szandor LaVey which, when I read them, I could see that they mostly relate to most of the basic ideas and life philosophy that I had come up with and developed so long before that and that hold true to me...
