BIOGRAPHY:

Leroy Wan (Leader Lovebot of "Leroy & The Lovebots") on himself.

My name is Leroy Wan. I'm just a person who woke up one morning and realized what I loved doing most in the world, and it just seems like a shame to not do that for the rest of your life.
...
So far I am a performance artist, a writer and most importantly a musician.

I feel so blessed to know that what I have in my hands is a show full of brassieres, sweat and soul and also something that has the ability to INSPIRE people so they can do whatever they have always wanted to do. The show is a show of liberation and embracing the good, the bad and the ugly. And I feel even more blessed when I hear my soul and my art made someone feel liberated from reality and into our little Lovebot world.

It's always high energy, and since I have always been a drama geek, my shows are just as theatrical as a regular theatre show. Our costumes reference our idols, and with our performances, we always try to express something that is purely our opinion.

My influences include old hollywood like Audrey Hepburn, pin-up girls and burlesque, the future and the 60's AND 80's, and of course, having lots of gay homosexual intercourse with Conservatives.

I am in the midst of writing our `Leroy and The Lovebots` right now. I am trying to let people hear my sex, my pain, my love. I want people to see the Lovebots for who they really are.

The one question people always ask me is "Why don't we have stage names?" And my answer is we do not have stage names because even on stage, we live the mantra of always being yourself. And that is what a "LEROY & THE LOVEBOTS" show is all about.
