About this user
I'm a single guy with a lot of hobbies. I mostly use youtube to indulge in my hobbies.
One is the history of professional wrestling 1850-1990, as well as NCAA and amatuer wrestling. A second hobby is music, especially hard rock and metal from 1970-1990. I play a bass and watch as many tutorials and covers as I can. Since I majored in philosophy in college and grad school, my third hobby is watching videos that debate or elucidate philosophic matters. Fourth: like most people, I watch oddball videos that make me laugh or cringe, especially good stand-up and sketch comedy. I love to make people laugh. Lastly, since I do woodworking whenever possible, I watch tutorial videos when I need advice.
Though I studied Western philosophy, most of my friends see me as having a calm serenity associated more with Eastern thought. That combined with my love of drawing is what lead to my choice of profile picture. I drew it about two years ago.
When I post comments, they're usually on the topics above. That so many people post abusive language and unecessarily negative comments on youtube dissappoints me. The world should use the Internet to become more understanding and intelligent, not less. I've always enjoyed writing and the resourceful use of grammar to express ideas. For me, the limitations youtube places on comments is a challenge that I find makes me a more succinct and incisive thinker and writer; I wish others would use it to that end.
I work in television broadcasting as a tech. op. and gaffer. My hope is that, as youtube progresses, people will learn more about how to produce broadcast quality video, and the junk contained herein will diminish.
