A 1.4 only gets 38 highway? I had a 2005 Chevy cavalier 5 speed and it made 39-40 hwy under the right conditions and thats from a 2.2 with twice as much torque

@hateroftexas ANY engine will have to tendency to burn oil if neglected. Just the same, given a quality design, ANY engine has the capability to exceed 300 k miles if taken care of. I had a 2005 Cavalier with 300k miles on the original EVERYTHING, except an ignition module. :D
