I Love to paint. I am a self taught painter / artist. I started painting in 2008 not really knowing what I would paint or how but I was determined to create something. I also Make soap, candles, tile coasters and I have also dabbled in painting art T shirts. As a self taught artist I am always experimenting with new techniques. I always incorporate my style into what I have learned. I have painted flowers, trees, still life, but always keeping the abstract feeling going in all I do.
I strive to create and blend color to achieve a harmonious balance of light and dark to bring the viewer into my work.
I have mostly worked with acrylic paints.
I am currently working with oils and loving how wonderful they spread and blend and the warmth I feel when I see them on my canvas .
I still have so much to learn in the artist world. I will continue to research, study and experiment with color.
My creative journey has been filled with many challenges and ideas that have helped me to discover what my true passion is.
I have done extensive research in color and techniques in painting.
But ultimately I believe the Lord has guided me. He has given me my talent and helps me stay on track.
I was researching a certian style of painting that would be easy and probably yield a few bucks quickly but in my research I discovered the layering technique By John that is so close to what I originally started painting, I knew that the Lord was speaking to me.
This has taught me to follow what I feel and not to follow what others want of me.
I speak to the Lord before I create a painting or other works so that my heart is in the right place. When I finish a painting I thank the Lord for his guidance for without him I am nothing, but with him I can do anything.
Amen!
Kathy
Oh thanks Shaun! ...I will do better on the next one...It came out way too big I kinda had it lopsided so added more till it was too much...Thank you for having a peek, you have inspired me...
