I'm going to say more crimes being commited is a large part of it too. Then again america has an extreme amount of laws. To the point where the average citizen unwittingly commits three felonies a day.

Actually that's not really true either: You discount greed, and other human faults. This is coming from a fellow atheist btw. But yes it would certainly reduce conflicts if everyone was atheist, we'd have none of the secterian violence, and religion vs religion wars. Doesn't make war...

You're thinking of switzerland, and it's not entirely correct in any case, there are exceptions. Sweden has fairly draconian gun control(though not anywhere near that of say the UK), especially when it comes to handguns, and there's no provisions for carrying. A large number of hunter...

@icametorock1 Actually stonefish aren't much of a danger when swimming/scuba diving, just keep an eye where you put your hands when doing the latter(you won't get close enough when swimming). It's walking in the shallows that's the dangerous part.
