My name's Jessica Maree, I'm eighteen, and in that time I've never been outside of Victoria, Australia. However, if you ask me where home is, I'll tell you Tennessee... It's been my favourite place as long as I can ever remember. I'm also pretty obsessed with Texas, and the southern US states in general, but anyway, that's enough about that...
I love music. A lot. It's basically the only thing I've known my whole life and the only thing that's been for me when people haven't. Country music is my favourite, but my iPod is the most random thing ever and I take it everywhere and listen to it wayyyy too much and it's basically my best friend. My other best friend would be my guitar, which my parents bought for me in 2008, after I fell in love with Taylor Swift's music (pre-Love Story fame), and my rather annoying Year 9 music teacher kept pushing them to put me in some kind of music lessons. Actually, he was pushing them to put me in singing lessons buuuuuuut I gave up on the whole singing thing when I was like 11 and I didn't win the Total Girl karaoke contest to meet Hilary Duff and I decided that I'm the worst singer in the world... Okay, not totally true, but they knew they couldn't get me to do singing lessons, so I think they were thinking if I picked up guitar, I'd get back into it. They were wrong... Anyways, moving on....
The only other thing I can ever remember loving as much as I love music, is horses. I've spent my whole life wanting to be around them, and although I didn't get that chance until recently, horse riding is one of my favourite things ever.
Up until a few months ago, I always swore that I was going to be an actress when I finished high school, because I used to jump at the chance to be someone I'm not. But recently I've had a change of heart. I think it's because I've learnt to be happy just being me.
Aside from all that stuff I've already mentioned, I like necklaces, Hello Kitty, PEZ Dispensers, Lip Smackers and the colour purple. I wish my hair was curly and my eyes were blue. I wear way too many band t-shirts and way too much plaid, and I almost always have cowboy boots on. I hate watching TV because ads annoy me. I like movies, but I'd much rather be reading a book. I have an Elvis plush doll on my bed. And a Taylor Swift blanket. I like football games, concerts, and generally any other event where I can be overexcited without looking like a freak.
Recently, I've stumbled across a lot of things from my past, and it's made me realise that even though my family doesn't have a lot, I've had it real good... And I've also had the most amazing role models. I look up to Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift, Michael Paynter, Miranda Lambert & The Veronicas more than anyone else.
