I actually find this version really bland. I don't like Joe much, but I was curious and am utterly disappointed by this.

His version makes this song fun, at least.

I don't hear any 'new' sound. They are still singing about love, it's still poppy, if anything it sounds like they have gone backwards since Love Metal- trying to recapture Razorblade Romance in terms of production, song structure and overall feel.
