Hydro-Guard® revolutionized the water distribution industry in 1998 with the introduction of the theory of Advanced Maintenance Flushing, as well as the unveiling of the first automatic and programmable flushing system, the Hydro-Guard®. Designed to allow public and private water distribution utilities to maintain more consistency in the level of disinfectant residual in water distribution lines, especially at the dead-end, the Hydro-Guard® utilizes a time based schedule to flush when water usage is traditionally lower or when the residual level is at its lowest.

Hydro-Guard® helps lower operational costs for the utility; reduces staff-hours related to flushing; saves water; and reduces customer complaints. On average, one Hydro-Guard® Automatic Flushing System can save as much as 180,000 gallons of water and more than $7,000 annually. From the development of the Hydro-Guard® and the embracing of practice of Advanced Maintenance Flushing evolved numerous all weather Hydro-Guard® Automatic Flushing System models, the Hydro-Guard® S.M.A.R.T. Flushing System (telemetry controlled, SCADA compatible, real-time two way communication with field units), the Safety-Guard® BOSS Bacteriological Sampling Station line, the Hydro-Guard® pedestal and wall mount enclosure line, and the Safety-Guard® Eye Wash and Safety Shower Auto Flushing Systems.
