About Me:
Do you know the story of the birth of Venus?
One of the most famous versions is that Venus emerged from the sea fully grown.
Entering into the world amid a shower of roses, the illuminate ivory goddess was born with the perfect femininity, grace, and beauty that she was believed to have symbolized.
This painting teaches a vitally important lesson — and one that holds particular relevance today.
Even the Goddess of Beauty is Imperfect
If you cast a critical eye upon this painting, you can spot some distinct imperfections in the way Botticelli painted the Roman goddess.
Look closely and you can see that Venus neck looks unnaturally long and her left shoulder dips down at an almost awkward and physically impossible angle.
It is these physical imperfections, however, that actually creates a sense of harmony and achieves the gracefully composed lines in this painting.
The goddesss curving neck and shoulder are essential in artistically capturing the moment when Venus prepares to delicately step out from her floating shell.
Ultimately, it is the goddesss physical appearance — and Botticelli aspiring for perfection in beauty, seemingly flawed through it may be — that makes this painting a masterpiece.
Some people mistakenly believe that institutions discourage women from political participation. But on the contrary, history has shown that there are many ways to be able to open doors for women.
This is especially true in right-wing movements, and, in particular, the Spanish and Italian fascist movements of the mid 20th century.
Professing fervent devotion to traditional Catholic notions of women's sacrifice and obedience, fascist women came to hold incredible power and realize their chief mission: champion social justice in society.

Thanks for the invite--Subbed you too--Keep the British Torch ALIGHT! =:)
The West is 'too white' and without culture, they say. Its public services are 'institutionally racist', whilst ethnic minority criminals can't be locked away without the legal system being accused of 'discrimination'! Meanwhile, 'positive discrimination', countless pressure groups and professional associations based purely on race are established to cater for all... almost all.
Can't a MultiCultural Society exist without breaking apart the native resident culture and providing leg-ups for others? Or is that so obviously the necessity?
