Darien and Basil, Both photographs are iconic of the theatre they represent. It is not generaly known but both shots are recreations of the events they portray and taken days after they actually happened.

@VictorSeedorsky It should be pointed out that Guy Bancroft-Wilson had been the P-63 display pilot for a number of years and was as fluent on the type as he was on Jets, so don't be such a twat.
