We've all seen the latest freak out coming from conservatives, which has driven us back in time, the debate over contraception, which ultimately leads to talk about sex, abortion, and thanks to Rush Limbaugh, sluts. AlterNet's Lynn Parramore argues it might be because the real question bothering today's conservatives, is what are men for? She joins the show to discuss. Twitter: http://twitter.co... We spoke about an attempt to privatize prisons on a mass scale here in the US. As the Huffington Post reveled, Corrections Corporation of America, the largest private prison company, had offered a deal to states and would have them sign a 20 year contract requiring that the prisons be kept at 90% capacity. Now the ACLU and 26 other organizations called on the governors of all 50 states to reject this offer from CCA there's also a letter sent out by 32 religious organizations that says there's a "moral imperative in reducing incarceration through evidence-based alternatives to imprisonment". Alyona gives her two sense saying the problem in this country is that we have the largest known prison population in the world. Twitter: http://twitter.co... Facebook: http://www.facebo...

How many of us actually know what it takes to get products to us, what kind of labor practices go on at the shipping centers right here at home, in the US. Currently there are a number of lawsuits, one in particular against Amazon, where workers have complained of horrible conditions and being treated like "pieces of crap". Mother Jones' Mac McClelland went to find out for herself by working at Amalgamated Product Giant Shipping Worldwide in Mississippi. She joins the show to explain what it was really like.
