I am Michael Gensler, founder of Gray-Ass. I started off in music by using computer programs, (trials of computer programs). My creations were rubbish. I couldn't stop though, I loved music. But I soon discovered that the only way I could do this was by having some musical skill. So I finally decided to take piano lessons and buy a electronic keyboard. Then, after buying a multitrack recorder (which I wasn't sure what to do with or how to use until we got the band ready), I soon got my buddies together and decided to make a band.
Influences: Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Beck, Air, George Benson, Black Sabbath, Metalicca, Slipknot, Fleetwood Mac, The Stray Cats, The Beatles, Radiohead, Bob Marley, Daft punk, Cassius, Bob Sinclair, Alan Braxe, Fred Falke, Ratatat, Aphex Twin (and his many monikers), Squarepusher, The Rippingtons, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Animal Collective, Phoenix, Weezer, Nine Inch Nails, Kraftwerk, Queen, Mr Oizo, Basement Jaxx, AC/DC, Michael Jackson, The Brothers Johnson, Neil Young
I also have a side project that I do by myself called Tubby Custard. As Tubby Custard I DJ, make electronica songs, and remix songs.
