About Me:

The rap name Bones, short for The Ebony Bones, is a reference to the black keys on a piano. Anyone that plays the piano will tell you that the black keys create a subconscious connection between the instrument and the musician. It is because of these black keys that blind musicians can sit down at the piano and have complete confidence that their fingers will find their destination. The black keys to a musician are like laces on a football to a quarterback; the small bumps on the F and J keys to a typist; and a devoted parents training to a child that has grown into an adult. Bones, AKA Ebony Bones, is that same secure place of reference for the modern fan of hip-hop music. Whether you are looking for thought provoking conscious rap or a battle rapper with punch lines and metaphors, you can always come back to the Ebony Bones. With a wide variety of influences (such as Redman, Common, Black Thought, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Lauryn Hill, and Eminem to name a few) the self-proclaimed motivational rapper has a way with words that can appeal to anyone who considers themselves a part of the hip-hop culture. Born in Los Angeles, his family immediately relocated to Sherman, Texas. Bones' family wouldn't return to California until he was 9 years old. The West has been his home every since. He attended his last years of elementary school and middle school in Novato, California. Then the Johnson family relocated to Vallejo, where he went to high school at Hogan High. The culture shock that Bones experienced when he arrived in Vallejo from Novato was the impetus for the line: "The blacks used to say I act white, now they want me to rap, I ain't mad dude, its totally rad!" Now blacks, whites, browns, and reds alike can only respect the hustle. One semester away from a law degree from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, Bones has used his YouTube page to display his talents and create a buzz while simultaneously working full-time as a computer programmer to support is family of six. The future is bright for the versatile lyricist whether he decides to pursue a career as an attorney or as a emcee. One could only imagine what would happen if Bones could focus all of his hustle on music. But one thing is for certain, if you are lost in the current state of hip-hop; floundering about without any point of reference; confused about why lyrics are not evolving but becoming more predictable and pointless, just remember...look for the Ebony Bones.

hey man I was just wondering how you doing? I remember you were going through some things with your health. Are you okay now? I just wanna wish you luck on whatever you decide to do, if you go into law or music. I know it must be hard, you have a family to support and music could be risky to succeed in, either way good luck.
