For information on the limbs have a look at my video ‘Bow Facts & Data’. Don’t take any notice of the energy figures; they are wrong. I am trying to sort them out. If I can’t get them right, I will withdraw the Video by 13th October.
The only construction details I have are photos on my website.
You are mostly right regarding your observations on my Bow Pistol video.
The design is fundamentally correct; it is me that is incorrect.
I was aware that my right hand came in front of the bolt at times but was lazy and sloppy while the camera was on me.
I thought I could get away with it.
Well done for spotting it.
Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your Query.
Have a look at my slideshow 'Bow Facts' this will answer your question.
Most of my materials are scrap items. For example the barrel is an old rusty lawn mower handle.
Google is the only way of finding materials, springs, barings etc. The problem is getting materials in small quantities, hence the relience on scrap.
The only metal used is light alloy fot the Nut that pulls the string back and case hardened mild steel for the trigger. All the rest is wood.
