The original 80's Hoyle decks were a bit superior to the ones made today. I wish someone had a stash of these somewhere! lol These are pretty good too.

The original Maverick's from the 80's were like this too. They age well, and become very soft. Also great for shuffling and game play as well as magic.

I noticed the face cards are all the same with this deck (a disappointment). They use the King of Hearts design on all four kings, the Queen of Hearts on all four queens, and the Jack of Diamonds on all four jacks. Not sure why they could not actually have the one-eyed Jack of Hearts and Spades...

Always get chills whenever I hear this. Especially at 0.41 with the roar, and then the exquisite scenic view that follows afterwards. Simply epic! So far this series has been awesome. Just wish this trailer music could be heard again! :)

@anton1990 A "big performance was it. :) At least we saw a clip. Colin was in your face, with a strong sense of justice, and had some classic quotes and moments, especially in The Two Doctors when he contemplates the end of the universe. If only the writing was better.

Actually I believe each Doctor should have received the same amount of applause. Although I love how Jon Pertwee had a huge applause on the crescendo part! Colin, Sylvester and Paul should have had a few more seconds each. I think all three were rushed unfortunately, and that is why the crowd ...

The sound quality is not top notch and has distorted her voice quite a bit here. But she has always been a more nasal singer, one that I believe sounds wonderful (not too many people can get by with this sound).

Not sure why others need to put down others just to boost Laura Brannigan. However, I will say I love her songs, and her voice was inspiring. I bet singers of today had looked up to women singers such as Laura as she is a fine artist! Enjoy!

To add to my last comment, this means there is no one-eyed King of Diamonds, and no suicidal King of Hearts (a bit of a disappointment). Depending on which year the deck was made some of the black and grey decks are this way as well but with the Jack of Clubs face design used for all of the jack...

Hoyle would be very recognizable by the older generations due to their popularity in the 70's and 80's. The original Hoyle cards I believe are better quality as they seemed to be extremely dependable, and durable. The one thing I noticed is that when Bicycle took over Hoyle, they did a reprint ...
