Maria Nina Ricci was an Italian haute couture fashion designer. As a teenager, Nina had an insatiable fervor for fashion. She spent 20 years as a designer for the house of Raffin before deciding to become an independent designer of french couture. In 1932, Madame Ricci's son, Robert Ricci, convinced Nina to trust her creative talent while he handled the finances of their business. As a team, the design duo made the House of Nina Ricci into the legendary design house that it still is today. Nina was 49 years old at the time, proving that age does not matter when it's time to handle your business, trust your God-given talent, and pursue your dreams. Madame Nina was known for working with fabric directly on the manniquins to make certain that her unique designs had the perfect shape once they were completed. Her designs became well known for their femininity and for celebrating the real woman's form, grace, and beauty. The current designer for Nina Ricci is Peter Copping who recently replaced haute couture designer Oliver Theykens.
