About THE COMICS

'The Comics' consist of two very close friends, Ben Alekzsander Williams and Chris Wood. They are are a indie/epic/experimental band who have very eclectic musical taste. From the muscials, to jazz, to blues, to electro pop and to rock; they blend all their musical genres into one overall sound.

They have been compared to the likes of The Last Shadow Puppets, The Wombats and The Editors. They are a quartet when peforming live with an added bassist and drummer.

Before they formed, back in April of 2008, they both enjoyed performing across Denbighshire on their own doing solo work. Chris Wood, a well known Denbigh music talent, had his first solo album; "Clever Little Scenario" reviewed, with an astounding 9/10 rating, in the Denbighshire Free Press a few months back.

Meanwhile, Ben was having his well known songs such as 'Reach Out' and 'Baby Look Away' being played at every Denbigh FC home game. Ben has also appeared in many Battle Of The Bands and has also been featured on local radio stations over the last 2 years.

On the 13th April 2008, they made their debut in 'The Big Gig' in Denbigh Town Hall, where they performed an acoustic set which everyone really enjoyed. They also performed in the recent 'Denbigh Mid-Summer Festival' on the 21st June, where they played a 30 mins set which yet again everyone enjoyed and they received very positive feedback when they'd finished.

In April of 2008, they managed to record and release their first song called 'Dignity Keeper' which has a very catching "sing-a-long" chorus line of: 'that's okay if you wanna stay, wanna stay here, that's okay". A live performance of this can be found on YouTube.

In May of 2008, they released their second song, called 'Face to Face' which their fans took a immediate likeness to. The lads were contacted by a Canadian woman who sent them a message via YouTube, which they were amazed at. She stated that: "Face to Face is one of the best songs I've heard by any artist in the past year, I can't believe you guys have just finished high school and you can together write just a fantastic song like that".

They appear to have several fans from abroad, such as Sweden, Canada and France, which is a fantastic start for The Comics.

In the summer, they hope to complete their full 10 track album, which will be called 'The Last Laugh' and will feature 3 of their known tracks; 'Face to Face', 'Dignity Keeper' and 'Louise'.

They are looking forward to what the future brings and they have high promises and people do believe they can get far. They hope that the support that their friends and fans have given them so far can be crucial in their hopeful step to success.
