Selena thanked each and every one who came to her bridal shower. She then went on to try to help Miley, Demi, and Mrs. Jonas pick up all her presents. "No Sel, don't do anything!" Demi said as she jokingly pushed Selena's purse against her.
"But-"
Demi tugged Selena away from Miley and her mom to make sure what she was about to say couldn't be heard by either of them. "Listen" she began to whispering. "Nick told me about tonight. I think you two owe it to each other to talk everything out once and for all...you know...before it's too late"
Selena smiled and sighed and brought Demi into a tight hug
"I know I'm great" she said laughing. "Now go! Nick texted me already he's waiting for you in his truck around the corner" she said with a wink.
Selena smiled and bit her bottom lip as she turned towards the front entrance of the restaurant. She walked to the corner and immediately spotted Nick leaning against his truck waiting for her with a smile. She carefully crossed the street and made her way towards him.
"You ready?" he said with a slight smile as he opened her door for her. "Ready" she said with a smile as she climbed into his truck.
She watched Nick as he drove off and got onto the highway. She wondered where he would take her. She wondered what he would tell her tonight. She even began to wonder if anything would happen, and if she would stop it.
As she came back to reality she began to notice the route he was taking. It was opposite of the city which made her curious. "Where are we going?"
Nick smiled as he quickly turned to see her "You'll see"
"You mind?" Selena asked as she pointed to the radio. "Go for it" he smiled.
She tuned the radio until she landed on one particular song. "Leave it there" Nick said softly. Selena leaned back into her seat and along with Nick, listened to the song.
"Tell me the chance hasn't passed us by. Cause baby, the stars have never shined so bright, nothing can stop us out here. Let's just take tonight, tonight slow. I want to see where this, where this goes. I need you"
Nick looked at Selena and smiled "Took the words right out of me" he said then let out a soft chuckle. Selena blushed a bit as the song continued to echo inside the truck.
"Were here" Nick said as he pulled up to a lake. Selena smiled as she took note of the lake.
Nick smiled as he opened her door and helped her down. "Why did you bring me here?" She asked him as she looked around with a smile.
Nick sighed deeply as he looked around the place. "Well, if you must now" he said chuckling as he and her started their way towards the lake. "I think this is where I first realized I was in big trouble"
"What?" Selena said laughing. "Why?"
"Don't laugh" he said laughing himself. "It's just; this is where we hooked up that second time. I remember afterwards on our way back I thought to myself that I was in trouble because I was beginning to like spending time with you"
Selena smiled as she and Nick stopped by a tree that was besides the lake. "Go on"
"This is also where I came to the day you took off. I wanted to just get away from it all. So I came here." He walked more towards the lake with his back turned towards Selena. "This is where I promised myself that our story wouldn't be over, and that I wouldn't let it be. I don't know I guess from then on whenever I needed to get away from it all, I just came here"
Selena felt tears build up inside of her. She wanted to run to Nick and kiss him right then and there. She wanted to do something! She made her way to him and turned him around so he would face her. "How did this get so far?" she asked.
Nick sighed and took her hands in his. "I don't know" he then cupped her face gently and stepped in closer to her. "One thing I swear to you Selena is that even though I never meant to fall in love with you. I did. I fell for you hard. And I can't fall out of love. I just can't"
Selena felt her eyes burn from the tears that she had been hiding from Nick since the minuet she arrived. They fell one by one down her check as she listened to Nick's words. "I can't Sel, I don't how I could possibly fall out of love with you when every day I feel I love you more and more" he said in a whisper tone.
"Even though you said you don't love me I --"
"Shh" Selena said cutting him off and placing her finger gently on his lips. "Nick, I love you too. I always have, and I think I always will"
Nick looked hard into her eyes and couldn't help himself anymore. He leaned in and crashed his lips against her and wasn't willing to let go of her. He didn't care if he was only hours away from becoming his brother's wife. He wanted her. He wanted her to himself tonight.
