@SOLOVEY1950 i dont think anyone is saying this is "bad"..quite the opposite.. the fact that even though he is extremely ill he can still deliver such a powerfully emotional performance is testament to his unique talent..although i do prefer the june 77 version..it's just incredible.

This is a smashing wee play. The black and white helps give it the proper period look and then bursting into colour for the song..brilliant. The writing is terrific and the acting is good,specially the beauty queen, the school girl and the wannabe pop-star's manager. Dont know why STV dont put ...

Why is it so difficult to get the version released as a single? it is easily the best .

Apart from the first 20 minutes which grip the imagination the rest of the movie (excepting the stunning cinematography) is pretentious crap.

@aaronvespro You need to check your history..large chunks of northern and western Scotland as well as almost half of England were under Scandinavian control for centuries.
