@Mattythebassman Not true, the P-bass was originally ment to be played with the thumb, that's why there is a fingerrest UNDER the strings on the early vintage P-basses. To put your fingers on while thumbing te string with the side of your thumb (not slapping obviously).

@RonnyOnBass They had a 5-string version of this bass, but it was discontinued due to problems with the B-string and the active electrons. Huge buzzing and woofing instead of thight tones, so it's said. It's a pity they couldn't/wouldn't solve it.
