Love it. I was 15 when this was in the UK charts, and after watching this I'm 15 again! I knew I was right when all my mates were into Led Zepp and Deep Purple and I was saying, No, forget them dullards, Mud are Ace! How I laughed on the way to hospital.

It seems like yesterday I was watching this on TOTP in the UK. This was in the charts for ages, something like late October 73 to early Feb 74. Where did those 37 years go? :)

All this hero worship for the least talented of a talentless group of individuals perplexes me. If he had lived, Sid would now be advertising life insurance or cheese or something on the telly. He was about as 'punk' and rock and roll as I was, and I was the squarest kid you ever met.

I'm 52, and just getting into all this rock stuff. Didn't do it for me when I was a kid, but I get it now!

@zincfreud I remember this on Crackerjack as well - 1973 I think? There is another band called Starbuck who had Moonlight's alright in 76. I thought it was the same band until I saw the guys who sang Moonlight earlier tonight on here...Deffo not the same group!

May 79, I was 21, just met the First Ex Wife, life was great and this song reminds me of that time. If only I'd known that the lyrics would map out the rest of my life...Ha! And don't they look so young! I know I sound like a mentalist, but I love this track. Going to have it at me funeral.

I want this played at my funeral. But probably with the opening words - one oclock time for lunch - edited out as it might freak people out a bit!

As someone said on here, forget about Paul Gadd, this is Gary Glitter. The persona we knew - before we knew, if you know what I mean - was an entertaining buffoon who brought us a lot of fun in the seventies. I'm not condoning his actions, but I still like the music.

Love it! I used to watch George Formby films when I was a kid - I'm 52 now - and my mum told me that George was no longer with us, I burst into tears. Can't remember that, but great to see him in this vid.

Smashin! Great memories...August 1973, towards the end of the school holidays. I was 15, so everything in my world was simple. Where did the last 37 years go, ffs! :)

Her son was a member of The Sugarhill Gang. Is that right? I remember reading about the connection in 79 when Rappers Delight was in the Hit Parade. :)

FFS, that's not The Drifters. perhaps they are the sons/cousins/assorted mates of The Drifters? Reminds me of the night I went to see Heatwave in Chester. I said to my mate, 'weren't Heatwave a bunch of black guys?' as I perused the stage dominated by white lads....
