In the short time that Forces has been together, the band's focus has been playing numerous shows around their home province of Ontario while simultaneously launching their first album The Strategy EP. The members came together out of their former projects Twinfold, Eye of Morning and No Measure, and with a shared love of post-hardcore/hard rock sound. In their previous musical endeavors members have shared the stage with bands such as Green Day, Gob, NOFX and Earth Crisis and played events such as Warped Tour and the Molson Indy. But even in their newest incarnation, Forces is able to draw an audience, as exemplified by their show at Toronto's Hard Rock Cafe on Yonge St. with an attendance of 500.
The seven-song EP combines this love for post-hardcore sounding hard rock and delivers the band's own radio-friendly brand of melodic driven music. Produced by Greg Dawson (Moneen, The End) and with layout design by Justin Ellesworth (Bedouin Sound Clash), Strategy is an energetic debut published independently under Forces own label Get Use to it Records.
