Scientists say that by 2031 all words will be deemed offensive and banned. We will then communicate with a series of blinks and low grunts.

I was in the crowd of people you talked to at LHMS a few days ago. I never realized that so many people used the r word so often when they speak to others. Keep up the good work Jill!

Great commentary Jill! You are absolutely right that this controversy over the film may result in greater awareness of how hortful the "R" word is to our community. Your thoughtful commentary deflates the stereotypes and takes the discussion passed all of the cheap and insnesitive humor and ridicule.
Thanks for all you do every day but a special thanks for this commentary. It demonstrates that the disabled community has articulate and attractive leaders who will speak the truth in the pursuit of "simple justice."

Thanks for speaking out.
