Maybe for a 120hp car, the window is a big deal. For a 600hp car, 0-100mph, a window down is maybe .1 seconds. It's not that big of a difference and certainly not the difference between winning and losing.

Guys use CRT monitors because they use actually draw on their monitors with dry erase marker to track their arcs. The marker wipes off the glass easier than an LCD display. The actual work monitors are LCD though.
