Unmanned is the way of the future. No heavy life-support system for the pilot. No worries about the lives of servicemen. No problems with pilots blacking out during high-G manuevers. The AI is almost there, so much so that I doubt making a sixth-gen manned fighter would be worth it.

What I heard was that the canards and the exhaust ports of the J-20 would show up real well on radar, so its stealth capabilities are not up to the F-22s standards, and that the pictures were released mostly for the propaganda value.
