My name is Nancy and I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 lymes disease and I'm interested in creating more awareness about lymes. I remember being bit by a tic when I was pregnant in 2005 and in July of 2008. I asked a doctor to test me at the time and she told me my test was negative. When I switched doctors recently, I got my old lab results and saw that I actually had a postive IGM western blot. She had told me I was negative because the IGG was negative. That is pretty common in the medical community. I tell everyone to get copies of their labs now and I've helped 3 other people get treatment. Anyway, the IGG requires 5 different strands of the lyme antibiodies to be positive and it takes a while for those antibodies to show up in a lot of cases so I'm told the testing isn't reliable. Last week I got my MRI results and found out the lyme has spread to my brain and is demylinating the nerve lining. That means wearing it away. Not good. This is also common in MS and is why a lot of people get misdiagnosed with MS at times.

My daughter is 3 years old and also is positive for lymes disease. There is a really good chance we were infected when I was pregnant and I could have given it to her. That really hurts. She's such a cute little princess and defenseless. It's hard for me to see her have it too. We do have a great doctor and I'm doing alternative treatments which seem to keep a lot of the symptoms away. I also just ordered a coil machine and hope to have success with that. I would like to connect with others suffering from lymes, those that want to know more about it or those who are into alternative health solutions. Thanks for stopping by.

Update 6/12/09: My husband got his results today and he has lyme also. Some say it can be passed from one partner to the next because it is in our body fluids. On a good note, I have my coil machine up and running. It's amazing. Thanks John!
