The purpose of this YouTube channel, along with the facebook group, is to help car buyers realize that buying an American car means ending up with a better product and supporting the local economy and jobs.
I plan to have a new video added every few weeks, so, please, don't forget to subscribe!
Part of Toyota's CEO and president's statement regarding the Toyota issues: "I would like to discuss what caused the recall issues we are facing now. Toyota has, for the past few years, been expanding its business rapidly. Quite frankly, I fear the pace at which we have grown may have been too quick. I would like to point out here that Toyota's priority has traditionally been the following: First; Safety, Second; Quality, and Third; Volume. These priorities became confused, and we were not able to stop, think, and make improvements as much as we were able to before, and our basic stance to listen to customers' voices to make better products has weakened somewhat. We pursued growth over the speed at which we were able to develop our people and our organization, and we should sincerely be mindful of that. I regret that this has resulted in the safety issues described in the recalls we face today, and I am deeply sorry for any accidents that Toyota drivers have experienced."
Many people have been mislead to thinking that buying from some foreign brands, such as Toyota, is more supportive of the local economy than buying from an American company but that's not true. For example, the 2011 Toyota Camry has an APC (American Parts Content) of 80% and the Chevrolet Malibu has an APC of 75%. However, this is misleading as the Chevrolet Malibu APC includes the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid while Toyota separates its nameplates to Camry (gas only) and Camry HV (hybrid). The Camry HV has an APC of 40% which, if included in the total Camry APC would bring down the average significantly and the Chevrolet Malibu would have a higher APC. Another example is how people have been mislead to think that American offerings have a shorter lifespan than offerings from Toyota and Honda. From the model year 2001 to the model year 2010 (the past 10 years), the Chevrolet Malibu has, on average*, had less engine and suspension related problems in the first 90 days of ownership than the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. This goes to show that the Malibu had a higher engine and suspension quality and although The Malibu had a lower "Predicted Reliability" rating due to more long term reported problems, this was due to neglected scheduled maintenance by some owners, which is strongly highlighted by Honda and Toyota dealerships upon purchase, and that raises the average number of related problems, but otherwise the Malibu would have had as many reported problems or less.
Chrysler, Ford and GM employ approximately 155k Americans vs 100k for all foreign brands (European, Japanese and Korean). Over 75% of the cars with 75% American content or higher are made by the Detroit three. They are the only ones that offer cars with over 80% American parts content. They have more plants in the US (28 plants) than all the other foreign automakers combined (18 plants) and their HQ's are in the US and most of their profits are spent in the US. Don't believe anyone who tells you a foreign brand is more American than any of the Detroit three!
The facebook group also serves as a place for American brands (Chrysler, Ford and GM and all owned brands) supporters to discuss any car related issue or post questions and news.
*J.D. Power gives a score from 1-5. The average score was calculated by summing the annual score and dividing by 10 (number of model years).

You posted several incorrect statements and definitions. Stop replying unless you know what you're talking about. I have years of experience with this subject and I have no time to waste on teaching you. Go work on a few cars and buy a couple of text books or take a couple of classes and learn. If you reply with something as stupid as "Torque is the measure of how that force is applied over a certain RPM curve," it will be deleted.
