BLACK AFRICANS ARE THE UK'S FASTEST GROWING ETHNIC MINORITY
Black Africans are an increasingly important group in terms of their numbers some 485,000 were enumerated in Great Britain in the 2001 census and rapid growth rate. In London (where 80% live), the population of 387,700 in 2001 is projected to increase to 512,000 in 2011 and 581,600 in 2021, a 50% increase over two decades.

"In 1991, whites comprised 79.8 per cent of all Londoners. The new findings suggest that proportion has fallen to 71.2 per cent.
Most striking has been the rise of the black African population, putting it on course to overtake Indians this decade as the biggest ethnic group in the capital after whites. Its growth was the largest, least predicted among London's ethnic groups, overtaking the number of black Caribbeans by more than doubling from 163,635 to a projected 378,933.
The birthplace with the largest increase is Nigeria, followed by Bangladesh, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Kenya and Somalia also have growing London populations."

BLACKS ARE THE MOST ENTREPRENEURIAL BRITONS
Britons of African, African-Caribbean and Asian origin have far more entrepreneurial flair than their white counterparts and are much more inclined to start a business, a government-funded survey published today shows.
Africans were nearly five times as likely as people of white origin to be involved in business start-ups, while people from Jamaica and other Caribbean countries were three times as likely to create their own business and Asians twice as likely to set up a new business.
