Hi Guys,

Thanks for visiting my page. My name is Adam and have been playing guitar over 10 years.

I have learned a technique called Lap tap, If you haven't figured out why its called that then I will slap you silly ( Joking). This technique has been created by a talented guitarist called Erik Mongrain. If you not heard his music I recommend a youtube search.

So a lot of people ask me questions about the guitar, the most frequent question is how did I end up playing like this and why. I thought the why was very random to the question but it played a big part to it. It is a very long story.....
Still reading? I did warn you.

When I was 15 I was my Prom/High school ball/end of year exam party, what every you guys call it and I was minding my own business watching a guy I know doing break dancing, My hand got slightly in the way when he was doing a flare ( Apparently thats what there called) in pain I went to the hospital the next day and had to get a cast on it, I got a fractured knuckle and for a while it was uncomfortable for me to stretch my third and pinky to play the frets.

This didn't annoyed me, in fact it made me not play guitar for a while. I stumbled across Erik Mongrain and was amazed at his guitar skills, I did some more research and found other guitarist who have from this day will be my influences. I started to learn techniques called "Percussion guitar or Slap tap acoustic". After years of perfecting this art I took it to the next level and Lap tapping a try and was hooked. I play it all the time and at one point forgotten what a G - Chord was held.

Eventually my fingers was fine and I was able to play normally........... then I went back to playing Lap tap.. It's hard to explain why but for now I think I will stick to this style. :)
