I don't get why he couldn't sleep and let him just eat when he's hungry or when he wakes up. Was he having a warm meal that was getting cold or something? Do you have bugs that you can't leave dry kibble out for him so you have to put his food away? just curious.

you can't be mad at a lion for being a lion. it's a BIG predator and that's not a real zoo with safety enclosures. it's barely a chain linked fence, nothing safe about that.
