The Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is very well done, including the English dubbed track on the DVD.
What has made the Swedish version and the book so appealing is the suspense of the mystery and message of women's rights. It's great that Lisbeth Salander is a bright hacker and strong woman who fights back against her rapist, as you stated in your review. I also liked the way she saved Mikael's life in the end. I think the attraction between them is felt more in the Swedish version and, of course, described better in the book. Noomi Rapace, the original actress who played Lisbeth, is a phenomenal actress! I'm glad Rooney Mara portrayed her well also, according to your review.
I highly recommend you read the book and watch the Swedish version (in Swedish with English subtitles or English dub, whichever you prefer).
