This performance would be perfect if not for the bassoons. I absolutely hate classic French bassoons. I think the Orchestre de Paris is the only one in France that uses the modern bassoon.

Listen to the singers and you'll hear that she's baked into a loaf of bread (some translations say gingerbread, pretty much all involve her in a cake or bread, and I'm sure all involve her being eaten). The real fairy tale is no less morbid than this.

The "song" is actually the Intermezzo before the third act of Cavalleria Rusticana, which is an opera written by Pietro Mascagni. This is to clear up any confusion and make it easier to find.

I love the fleshed out final chord, but Valery royally screwed it up because the chord was supposed to synchronize with the Chosen One being lifted up. Also, the horns could've been better. But really, everything else was great.

@carahnaseem In order, the clefs are soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. As you can tell, they correspond with the vocal range. Soprano clef has been dropped for treble, as you may know, and so has alto (in vocal music).
