Was Practicing Saber using Wade's USMC drills and the Saber was also harder to recover than a similar backsword etc So it seems to be a feature of the curved blade. I am starting Polish Saber soon will report and contrast.

What the millitary wants fron D3o is weight savings.
Replacing the existing padding in the under layers of body armour with equilalent shock absorbtion for a third of the weight.
Being thinner, flexable, fireproof and stable from -40DegC to 120DegC are just a bonus.
Other more minor Military app...
